Postpartum Recovery Kit: Small Business Products for Healing

Okay, let's dive in. The first product you'll see is a peri bottle . This is a different peri bottle than what you get in the hospital. It's unique because it's designed upside down, so you will want to use it this way. We have an entire video on our YouTube channel demonstrating how to use an upside-down peri bottle.

You'll fill it with warm water and maybe a Sitz bath blend. Then, you'll use it to gently cleanse after going to the bathroom so you're not wiping and disturbing your stitches or swelling. This bottle really just helps gently cleanse and soothe that area.

Plus, it collapses down for easy travel and storage and fits right into this handy waterproof bag.

The next product you'll find in this kit is these organic overnight pads . These are made from bamboo and are super soft, breathable , and entirely plant-based. And as I said, they're organic as well. I love them because they come in this compact little box and are overnight, offering a lot more protection than your standard pad.

You would use these after you graduate from those larger hospital pads.

Then, we have these postpartum bath herbs. These are six individual-use packets filled with soothing herbs from a Canadian company called Anointment.

To use these herbs, simply submerge them (like a tea bag) into warm bath water or put them into your little Sitz bath, where you sit on the toilet. The herbs will be absorbed in the water and provide soothing relief, especially if you experience a lot of swelling during labor and delivery.

Sitz baths are an absolute must.

Okay, this right here is our iron-boosting tea. And when I tell you I can't keep this in stock, I can't keep this in stock. We sell many of these tea boxes because they are helpful and effective.

Of course, we experience blood loss during birth, so having an iron-boosting tea made with nettle and rose is an easy way to boost your iron stores and help encourage iron absorption. 

This tea is midwife-created and features organic ingredients like nettle and rose hip. It comes from the UK, from a midwife-and-daughter company.

We also have this lovely perineum and bottom balm from Anointment. This special balm will help soothe tender areas and encourage recovery. 

It can also be used on hemorrhoids, which, whether or not you have a vaginal birth, you might be experiencing some hemorrhoids after pregnancy. This soothing balm can help provide some relief for that area.

And it's a 1.8-ounce jar, so you have plenty of balm for your bottom.

Then, we have the VIP of every postpartum recovery kit: postpartum mesh underwear. This box contains five reusable pairs, so you will be covered. I suggest washing them on a delicate cycle and hanging them to dry if possible.

Lastly, this is our soothing witch hazel perineal solution, Peri-Aid. This is a really simple solution made with witch hazel that can encourage cleansing and healing.

After a vaginal delivery, you can add a little bit of this solution to your peri bottle and gently cleanse the area. You can spray it on the affected area directly if that's easier. It is a straightforward but effective solution. 

And it comes from Australia from a company specializing in women's pregnancy and postpartum recovery. I love this product, and there's a reason I continue to import it.
